Tips on doing business online

Doing business online is too risky as you could encounter people you are not familiar with. Fraud and theft are rampant in this medium. However, as you discover online business, you could see somehow that it is rewarding.

I have been in online business for quite long time. Though, there are already measures and accreditation made by some advocates to stop identity fraud in the internet, I would say that there are still clever people who use their ingenuity to gain and take advantage of the ignorance of some of our friends.

I want to share these basic things which I think could safeguard your transactions online. I also encourage people to share their thoughts so that we can help and protect people especially newbies by publishing other measures not mentioned herein.

1. Ask - Ask for their real name and their social networking membership like Facebook, Twitter, etc.

2. Research - If they cannot provide their social network membership, search their names by using search engine and counter validate it to the information they have provided to you.

3. Contact - If they have a website, try to contact the claimed website and submit an inquiry. If they responded to you, probably they are real people to transact with. But that is not enough yet!

4. Verify - You have to verify the reputation of the website by checking free tools showing the reputation and reviews e.g., alexa.com. There are also reviews available online in some instances.

5. Contract - In every big transactions where you can't afford to lose your invested time, effort and money, try to execute a contract. The venue and jurisdiction clause of the contract should provide the most convenient forum in your part. This will put you in the advantageous position to run after them in case court litigation may arise. Our states can help you run after them as almost all of the states adhere to the international covenant of contract. If your state lacks specific law in helping you to enforce your claim against a person located in another jurisdictions (which is a rare case), try to lobby the same before your legislatures.

However, the above mentioned content is not a hard and fast rule. There are of course a lot of measures depending on the nature of your online transaction. Nevertheless do not hold back from any opportunities that an online transaction can offer to you. You won't know, your missed transaction would have made a dramatic change to your life.

If you have question, clarification or suggestion to above-written, I would am happy hear it by sending an email to mondex1@gmail.com or post a comment here! Thanks!

When I was hosptialized for TIA

Year 2005 was really a dreadful year for me.

Sometime in the month of February, I had this bad dream ( I forgot already the details of that dream). When I woke up, I felt numbness on the left part of my body. So I decided to visit University’s clinic which is just fifty steps away from my house to University’s gate.

The clinic attendant did normal procedure and found out that I have a blood pressure level of 130/90. The attending physician told me to go directly to the University’s hospital. Out of panic and nervousness, I felt ventilated. The hospital is about 15 minutes drive from the clinic. I don’t have a car and I took the public passenger’s jeepney. I seated at the front seat and asked the driver if possible not to take more passengers along the road because I need to reach the hospital soon. I paid extra money to the driver for that. When I take off from the jeepney I took again a trisikad (bicycle with 3 wheels). When I reached the hospital I had a feeling of relief because somehow I know I am already in the safe place. However, I was not attended by a physician immediately. I started to feel that my teeth is nibbling and my left face drooped down. The neurologist came after approximately an hour. On that time, I already feel confused though I still managed to call my friend (Lizet) informing her that I am in the hospital.

Thanks God! After several hours, I manage to recover. According to the Doctor, I had a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). I stayed in the hospital for about a week. My classmates stayed with me in the hospital. (Somehow, if no one would care for you, there are always sent proxies for your family that will do take care of you.)

Following from my hospitalization, I had trauma, depression and panic attack. I kept on coming back several times in the hospital because of fear of recurring attack. I consulted several doctors until such time that reach a point hating doctors because they caused me too much expenses - unnecessary expenses. I felt that I only spending money for nothing.

LESSON: DO NOT PANIC! Doctors tend to tell situations where patients may cause panic and worst, exacerbate the situation especially if the your case is hypertension. Ignore what the doctor has said. Instead, relax and surrender to God. In God, everything will be taken cared of.
